You spent hours recording, editing, and publishing your podcast. But if no one can find it, none of that matters.
Podcast SEO isn't the same as traditional web SEO, but the principles overlap. It starts with your show title and description — these need to include the keywords your target audience is actually searching for.
Episode titles matter too. 'Episode 47' tells search engines nothing. 'How to Build a Personal Brand from Scratch' tells them everything.
Show notes are your secret weapon. Every episode should have a dedicated page on your website with a full transcript, key takeaways, and relevant links. This gives Google crawlable content that points back to your show.
Don't forget about YouTube. Publishing video versions of your podcast episodes (even with a static image) opens up the second-largest search engine in the world.
Finally, build backlinks. Guest on other shows, get featured in newsletters, and create shareable content from your episodes. The more authority signals pointing to your content, the higher you'll rank.
